More Dance Recital -- Highlights from the Boys!

I know Lissie just posted a couple of highlights from last Wednesday's ballroom soiree, but I thought you all might also want to see the boys doing their special routines.

First we have Christian and Ashanti dancing the samba. I saw this for the first time as I was videoing it -- WOW!

Then we have Bryant and Lindsay dancing the rumba -- WOW, again -- so romantic and suave!

It was our last ballroom recital since Arianna (their teacher) is moving in a couple of months. We will truly miss her. She has been such a big part of the kid's lives with dance class each week. Thank you, Arianna. And good job everyone. This was a evening to be remembered always.

My Favorite Wannabe Wedding Band!

So CLB (CeLeBration!) have a dream of creating a band to hire out for weddings, and Lissie recently had the opportunity to sing at her best friend's (Erin Clark Lisonbee) wedding in Utah.  I'm thinking this is a great beginning to her wedding band singing career . . .and here she is at the wedding reception singing "Crazier" by Taylor Swift . . . one of her simple but heartfelt gifts to the wedding couple.

Congratulations and Best Wishes,
Erin and Brian!

Beautiful Brides

While on our trip to Utah in April, we were able to attend a couple of weddings/receptions of some old friends from Germany. The first picture is of LaDawn Boucher (one of Lauren's best friends growing up -- they met at girls camp) with her new husband, Steve, just as they are coming out of the Salt Lake Temple. And the second picture is of Erin Clark (one of Lissie's best friends -- I think they met in Primary!) and her new husband, Brian, just as they are coming out of the Manti Temple..

Lauren had fun trying out some wedding photography -- I think she did wonderfully!

Congratulations to the beautiful new brides and grooms, and kudos to the photographer!

A Night in Paris -- Mormon Prom

Our stake sponsored a "Mormon Prom" this year with the theme of "A Night in Paris." Lissie and Christian teamed up with Katelyn Abbott and Stephen Carlson for this elegant evening. I had spent the previous (jet-lagged) evening putting the finishing touches on Lissie's prom skirt -- a bit of cream-colored tulle and taffeta. (I'm no longer a tulle-sewing advocate!) The whole ensemble of a flowy tulle skirt, crocheted top and gloves was dictated by Lissie's fashion sense. She looked so lovely . . . like a princess right out of the Victorian era. I'm glad she and Christian (and their dates!) could have this fun evening of memories together.

Ooh La La! Allison Adams, Lissie, Katelyn Abbott, Giuliana Gillespie, Jessica Zaugg

Long Weekend Fun

We girls had a long weekend together in Utah and here is what we were able to squeeze in . . . my graduation "walk", celebration lunch at Red Lobster, shopping at the new City Creek Mall across from Temple Square (Sephora and F21 anyone?), an Allred Family get-together (Happy Birthday, Grandma Kay!), a wedding reception (Congratulations, LaDawn and Steve), finishing touches on some wrap-around skirts for each of the girls, and photo-shoots in such hidden away locations like the "Fairy Orchard." It was delightful to be all together, even if was only for a long (but much too short) weekend.

Thank you, girls, for making it all happen!
