We received this fun picture from Uncle Doug today -- "The Dancing Allreds." Dad is the little one on the end. I think he is seven-years-old, and Charisse is about nine. It sure was fun to read about them in this scanned newspaper clip. I wish I could have been there!
That is adorable, mom!! I guess they thought Charisse and dad were twins? How cute. I forget that dad was such a performer!!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Sounds like that were quite the group!
ReplyDeletethis is the cutest thing ever! I'm glad that you scanned it so we'll have it forever now! :)
ReplyDeleteSo basically, Dad reminds me of Bryant when he sang at Marie's wedding -- Bryant was 7-years-old at the time. So cute!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness. charisse was 9. we're not twins. know how i know, i'm charisse. oh, lisa, i knew this was coming. what a great job you've done. guess i don't have to wonder what i'll be dreaming about tonight!
ReplyDeleteyes, he was a cutie! now you know why it was so hard for me to give him up and to you. he was like my personal private brother. we were so close. it was never YOU. his mission, and my marriage broke the bond, just as life is supposed to.
YOU are the BEST thing that ever happened to him. just took me a lot of years to come to terms with it. he owned a HUGE piece of my heart. he took it to Germany, and gave it all to you and your 7. and that just the way it should be.
sorry, maybe i was the one who was 7. wow, that #7, it has a lot of significance in this family doesn't it?
love to all. thanks for posting your blog! xo~charisse
one more thought. . .wow, my legs were once pretty straight! that was the night someone didn't do a quick enough change or the music tape broke. they sent me out, 9 years old to stall. . .know what i said, "does anyone know a good joke?" i figured, let the audience do some work. i'd already sung all my songs for the night.
